Friday is the qualifying round, where the field gets cut to five per event for Saturday's finals. Bull riding, calf roping, breakaway, and barrel racing on the dome floor. The kind of thing kids talk about all weekend.

The summer-long animated movie program runs May through September with kid-friendly classics on weekday matinees. Good rainy-afternoon option, the $5 Value Combo is hard to beat, and a quarter from every combo goes to the Will Rogers Motion Picture Pioneers Foundation.

The former Hawaiian Falls flips on its daily season this Saturday, the unofficial start of summer around the lake. Newly renovated park, full slate of slides, lazy river, and the wave pool. Cabanas and lockers go fast on a holiday Saturday, so book ahead if you want shade.
