Hey, Lewisville!
Summer is officially here and the weekend has a range of events to choose from. The Rangers are home all weekend against Cleveland, with a Saturday night game and a Sunday day game that is easy to do with kids. If you would rather stay close to the lake, The Colony throws its free Summer Kickoff on Saturday morning with games, crafts, and a petting zoo, a good way to get the kids signed up for summer reading while you are there.
Friday night is loaded if you want music. Yellowcard, New Found Glory, and Plain White T's hit the Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory, and over at Grandscape there is free live music on the lawn plus Take 6 at Windmills Brewery. We are leaning toward an easier night and starting with First Friday on Main Street in Old Town.
Keep June 16 on your radar too. The Sounds of Lewisville concert series brings a full Taylor Swift Eras Tour tribute to Wayne Ferguson Plaza, it is free, and it is our free pick this issue.
Down below you have the Local Lowdown, a few homes worth a look, and Karla, a six-year-old German Shepherd who would very much like to nap next to you.

🍽️ Delhi6 Indian Kitchen & Bar
Delhi6 is the kind of Indian restaurant that works for just about any occasion, whether it's a weeknight dinner, a date night, or getting a group together. With over 4,000 reviews and a 4.6 rating, this place has clearly built a loyal following in Highland Village for good reason. The menu covers traditional curries and dishes from different regions of India, so there's usually something for everyone at the table.
The bar side of things makes it a solid option if you want to linger a bit after dinner. It's a step above your typical strip mall Indian spot in terms of atmosphere.
They're closed Mondays, and lunch service doesn't start until noon on Fridays through Sundays, so plan accordingly.

Beasley's Jewelry and Boutique
Beasley's Jewelry and Boutique has been on West Main Street in Lewisville long enough that locals treat it as a default answer whenever anyone asks where to get jewelry done right.
They do custom pieces in-house, which is the part worth knowing. If you have a design in your head or an old piece you want reimagined, they build it right there rather than farming it out somewhere. Reviewers bring up the words honest and fair enough times that it starts to feel like the actual brand promise, not just compliments.
They also handle repairs, which is handy. Broken clasp, resizing, something your grandmother left you that needs some attention, this is a reasonable first call. One reviewer had them create a gift for a granddaughter and talked about it like the piece would last decades. That is a specific kind of confidence you do not get from a mall kiosk.
Family-owned and operated, still standing on Main Street. If you have been meaning to get something made or fixed and keep putting it off, this is a low-pressure place to start. Walk-ins welcome.

🛵 Lewisville PD brings back its motorcycle patrol after a decade
Lewisville Police relaunched its motorcycle unit on May 22, putting two officers on BMW motorcycles for the first time in more than 10 years. The unit focuses on traffic enforcement, crash response, and coverage at city events.
Expect to see the bikes on city streets this summer. Officials say motorcycle officers can move through traffic faster and reach spots a squad car cannot.
🍽️ LISD is serving free summer meals to all kids
Lewisville ISD is taking part in the USDA Summer Meals program, providing free, nutritious meals to all children and teens while school is out. You do not have to be an LISD student to qualify.
It is a practical help for families juggling summer schedules and grocery costs. Check the LISD site or the Cross Timbers Gazette story for meal site locations and hours near you.

🦟 West Nile turned up in Lewisville, and the city has free dunks
Lewisville confirmed its first West Nile-positive mosquito trap of 2026 near the 200 block of Highland Drive. City crews sprayed the area and are monitoring nine core sites around town.
The useful part: the city is handing out free mosquito dunks to residents. Drop one in any standing water (bird baths, flower pots, clogged gutters) to kill larvae before they hatch. Contact Lewisville Environmental Services to grab yours.

🐾 Meet Karla
At six years old, Karla has figured out exactly who she is, and who she is happens to be a very good girl. She's a petite German Shepherd with a gentle personality and, according to the volunteers, a coat that occasionally has its own agenda. She's going to need someone willing to take her for the occasional grooming run. That's a pretty easy ask for a dog this sweet.
She gets along with other dogs, has experience with kids, and keeps her energy at a steady, manageable pace. She's not going to tear through your house. She's more the type to settle in beside you and just be present. That kind of calm is genuinely hard to find in a shelter dog.
One thing worth knowing: Karla tested positive for heartworm. It sounds scarier than it is. Lewisville Animal Services will cover her full treatment, so you're not walking into a vet bill surprise. She's also fully vaccinated, spayed, microchipped, and flea-treated. She just needs someone to get her through treatment and into a home where she can finally stay.
She's at Lewisville Animal Services on College Parkway. Walk in during visiting hours to meet her, or call ahead if you have questions about the heartworm protocol.
